Husedalen, to the first of four majestic waterfalls.
Start: in Kinsarvik.
End: by Tveitafossen, the first waterfall.
Parking: behind Kinsarvik Fjordhotel, next to the town hall in Kinsarvik.
Public transport: Local bus from Odda, Eidfjord, Geilo, Voss. Ferry from Utne and Kvanndal. Catamaran from Norheimsund (bus from Bergen to Norheimsund)to Kinsarvik-
Track marking: at the start of the trail by the bridge in Kinsarvik, there is a board with information about local culture and nature and a map.
Grading: Kinsarvik-Tveitafossen: green, easy. Possible to do with bicycle and baby stroller when the ground is not to wet.
Length: approx 4.5 km on way.
Hight difference: 10- 180 masl.
Time: 1-1.5 time hours from Kinsarvik to Tveitafossen.
Advice: Part of the trail can be muddy in rainy wather, making it difficult for bicycles and baby strollers. Do not go too close to the river. The rocks on the banks can be very slippery.
Description: Start at the parking behind the hotel and walk past the hotel, Hardanger Souvenirs and across the bridge. Atfer the bridge turn right. After a few feet the board with map and information is visible on your right hand. Follow the trail along the river and throught spruce and pine forrest.
After about 3 km the trail ends. Turn right and follow a paved road througt an area of local industries to the bridge across the river Vivippo. Continue on a dirt road past the helicopter base to Tveitafossen, about 2 km.
Season: Kinsarvik-Tveitafossen can be done all year.
Round trip: between Kinsarvik and bridge across river Vivippo it is possible to walk past the old farms in Hus, from where the view to Kinsarvik is nice.
Shorter option: Park by the bridge crossing Vivippo (left hand, before the bridge), and walk to Tveitafossen in approximately 30 minutes on an easy dirt road.
