Norwegian Nature Centre Hardanger, established in 1995, changed its name and content in April 2018. Innovation and entrepreneurship led to the establishment of Norwegian Nature Centre Hardanger- an experience centre for Norwegian nature, climate and environment- as well as a visitor centre for the Hardangervidda national park.

Norwegian Nature Centre Hardanger is an exciting activity and experience center with focus on Norwegian nature, climate and environment. We offer three floors of exciting exhibitions, dioramas, interactive stations, innovative aquariums, educational videos and illustrative texts. A walk through our three floors of exhibits shows you the best in Norwegian nature. Take a closer look at the wildlife, nature and climate. Explore the interaction between nature and culture. By watching, touching, listening and learning, you become an active and creative part of the exhibition.

Our modern cinema has 168 seats and five screens. It was built in collaboration with Norwegian filmmaker Ivo Caprino, and when we show our 225-degree panoramic film about Hardangervidda, The Hardanger Fjord and the beautiful waterfalls in the region, you feel as if you are part of the journey on screen.

We promise you a great experience between high mountains and deep fjords. Experience thrilling helicopter dives above steep canyons and cascading waterfalls. Take in the quiet, poetic scenes between mountain lakes, glaciers and reindeer, accompanied by an original music score. The soundtrack is intense, melancholy and lyrical, like the film itself.
 

HARDANGERVIDDA HALL RESTAURANT AND CAFÉ

In a building made of wood and stone, our restaurant recreates the atmosphere of the rugged mountain farms and hunting cabins on Hardangervidda. In a building with a history and a modern restaurant, 200 guests may experience unique tradition and a modern cuisine side by side.

Our goal is to create a quality product that makes us the best center in Norway in communicating knowledge about nature. Our exhibition concept is based on competence, when it comes to buildings as well as the content, design and execution of the exhibitions.
