HARDANGERVIDDA NATIONAL PARK
Hardangervidda National Park is the largest national park in Norway.Hardangervidda National Park is the largest high mountain plateau in Northern Europe, and Norway's largest national park. This vast mountain plateau offers excellent hiking opportunities for both seasoned hikers and recreational hikers. The national park has a wide network of trails for summer hikes and winter skiing. There are many mountain lodges along route 7 and into the wilderness. There is a short distance between the high mountain plateau and the Hardangerfjord.

FOLGEFONNA NATIONAL PARK
Folgefonna National Park was established in 2005 and is one of 42 National Parks in Norway. The Folgefonna glacier is the glacier furthest south in Norway, and the third largest. In the National Park and its surrounding areas there is a wide range of outdoor adventure activities available. You can join Folgefonni Glacier Team on guided snowshoe hikes, guided blue ice hikes, ice climbing or cross country skiing across the glacier (overnight stay on the glacier) from May www.folgefonni-breforarlag.no . The summer ski centre FONNA Glacier Ski Resort offers alpine skiing, snowboard and cross country skiing www.visitfonna.no . FlatEarth Adventures offers guided glacier tours at the Buer glacier, a part of the Folgefonna glacier stretching towards lake Sandvinsvatnet in Odda www.flatearth.no . The Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) has 4 mountain cabins in the National Park; Fonnabu, Holmaskjer, Breidablikk and Sauarbrehytta. The municipalities of Odda, Jondal, Ullensvang, Kvinnherad and Etne all have a part of the Folgefonna National Park.
